Just curious. I keep reading email from RMGO and CSSA about currently pending legislation. There seems to be two different points of view here. So, which group do you think is right? Or which one do you think best represents you as a gun owner.

I will say RMGO. CSSA can so far kiss my ass, accepting a bill like 24 when there are no other options is not that big of a deal but pushing it is not ok in my book

After reading what both have to say I think I like the RMGO.
The CSSA seems to be to much like the NRA and will give up to much just to get something.
Right now I'm only a menber of the CSSA but I think its time to join the RMGO. They seem to support more of my things I'm interested in.

I think Rickyj and Lugnut summed it up as well as you can.  CSSA has given up too easily.  I don't support the NRA and haven't since '86, now I can't see myself supporting just another turncoat organization.  Karl.

Wow. We seem to have a consensus so far. Pretty interesting thread. Anyone else have an opinion?

I've made my opinion of the CSSA known on several occasions.
I'm completely convinced that they will roll over on any issue that Gov. Owens and/or the NRA asks them to.  They hardly represent my views and in fact are usually in opposition with my views, and as such, the whole damn organization can pound sand.
I'll stick with the group that isn't afraid to say that the emperor (our esteemed RINO Governor) has no clothes.

I will take my 1/2 loaf. Will you guys still apply to get permits if SB24 passes?
Or would that be considering caving in?

Well I may be moving to Wyoming, if I get the job there, then I won't have to worry about it any longer.

RMGO all the way though....

I kind of wondered about the difference between these two groups for a while. After reading some of the stuff I get in the mail and all I have decided about what you guys have said. CSSA is a "sportsmans" organization. RMGO is a "Gun Rights" organization. While I like the sporting use of firearms we all know the 2nd Admendment has nothing to do with "sporting" use.

I prefer RMGO.

I suspect what will happen is this. For those of us lucky enough to have a good county sheriff, we will continue to get our permits from them.

The advantage of the state system is that guys who don't have "friendly" sheriffs would be able to get permits from the state. (But at what cost.) The other advantage would be reciprocity. Most other states will recognize a state permit but not a local one.

I'd rather have no bill at all then a bad one. Then again I'm in El Paso County and so I have a permit. But I do think its time for gun owners to stop comprimising and settling for what they can get, and start fighting and demanding to get what they want and or are entitled to.
