| Hi all, Seattle resident here. I've been looking around for a range/club that focuses on IPSC or IDPA, but it looks like the closest one is down in Vancouver? Anyone know of anything closer to the Seattle area? |

I dont know of any ranges that focus on that specifically but a number of ranges have pistol competitions on the weekends.
Renton Fish and Game has an IDPA match June 17 and a USPSA match June 24. From there you can get a list of other ranges running IPDA. They rotate it around I think from Bellevue down to south of Seattle somewhere. I have it all wrote down somewhere but I cant find the damn paper.....At the moment.....Fucking disorganized...... Well, start at Renton on the 17th and they can fill you in on the rest. |

There's actually the Northwest section of the USPSA that does a circuit around a few local ranges (six venues according to link): USPSA - Area 1
After determining which of the six ranges (if not all), go the respective range's website and look at their calendar. I don't do the IDPA personally, but the ranges I go to still seem to have IDPA events on different days from USPSA. Just check out the ranges' calendars and make a go at it. Hope this helped, good luck! EDIT: don't necessarily look at the calendar on the USPSA area 1 calendar...it isn't very populated or maintained.... but the ranges' calendars are kept up to date. |

7 active clubs within 100 miles of Seattle Renton is the longest running, and to my knowledge, the most active |

For what it's worth:
Besides the weekly NW01 matches that take place at the referenced 'six venues', Paul Bunyan in Puyallup has a "Mt. Rainier Shadow League" that is simply the same group of people, but this takes place on 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month (Fed-Oct). I try to participate in that one since it takes place in the evening (so it doesn't seem to take up half the day like the other circuit.) and it's the closest to me...I look at it more like it's a bowling league those weekday nights The Mason County Sportsman Association is an indoor facility. During the winter time, it's a bit more tolerable to go rather than the outdoor action bays at the other ranges/clubs...which frequently get canceled due to muddy or icy action bays during winter months. Albeit, that match at MCSA is only once a month, and because it's indoor, they're limited on their stage setups.... but for once a moth it's still kinda fun, and the limited stages do have a benefit: taping/reset goes a lot quicker See ya out there!
EDIT: Is the Breakfast-Fox already a USPSA member? Otherwise you'll need a safety check before you go. I believe if you show up an hour or so (well before) the match at Renton, they'll run new shooters through a safety check wherein you'll be issued a card (like a learner's permit) to prove you've been safety briefed and you can show that card at other USPSA events... but eventually you'll be required to apply for USPSA membership, and obligatorily issued a USPSA membership card (that's kinda like your actual license) Didn't know if you already knew that or not...if you're a USPSA member, I gues you already did.

I think other clubs are just as active in IDPA; looking at their calendars, looks like IDPA follows similar rotation as the USPSA does around here. Makes sense since they're similar and would require same resources/facilities. |
