OK, its not much of a challenge. Your vehicle would make it a hell of a lot farther than mine.

But I did make it to that lookout where you had your picture. That is one hell of a view, wont lie.

Call out thread!

Yeah gorgeous country up there and the views are awesome. How far did you go? If you keep going up that road it'll take you to just below the top of iron mt. Tried to get up there last month but got stopped by crappy snow. Hopefully its gone by now.

Didnt go any further down that road, but did backtrack and take the next road up and around. Went for a ways that way, then backtracked again and tried to get to the "big pit" but turned around after about half way.

Thats a long ways to that pit.....

Also found a shot up washer. I checked with the Parks folks today in fact to make them an offer. I'll haul down trash if they give me a spot to drop it. I sure as fuck wont pick up something until they approve otherwise it bcomes mine and its MY problem. Really hate people who drop trash up there.

Cant stand seeing that. Every trip I usually see something dumped. I dont get it..... theres the dump AND the recycling center in burlington that will take that shit for free. Seems those tards put more effort into littering than disposing it properly.

Let me know what you find out from the parks service, and a contact number if you get one. If they provide an easy way to help I have a pickup I'll use next time I see shit dumped up there.

I'm a bit confused, you say that the dump and recycling center take things for free? Is that the recycling center just south of Sedro on highway 9?

I stopped in to the North Cascades Institute right next to the Arco on highway 9/ highway 20. They didnt have any official programs for trash turn in and stated their Rangers usually pick it up when they see it. I told them I would be happy to pick up what I find I just need a place to dispose of it. I gave them the option that I'd be willing to take a picture of where I found it (To help confirm its not *my* trash I'm dropping off) and then drop it off on their property somewhere then either email them the picture letting them know where I found it and confirming I had dropped it off, or stop in their offices and let them know. I grabbed some pop cans and small stuff last weekend, but I can drop that in my personal recycle bin so no big deal. A fucking washer though, that aint fitting in my garbage can!

The guy behind the counter seemed interested in the idea so hes going to check on whether they would do something like that. I basically told them I wasnt looking for an official program, just a personal arrangement between myself and their offices but I've no doubt they would keep it open ended for anyone to do. I mean who the fuck wants trash up in the parks?

I'll let you know what they say when I hear from them.

Skagit River Steel & Recycling on anacortes st in burlington across from the soccer fields. They'll take old appliances and scrap for free, not the dump (bad phrasing on my part).

Most metal scrappers will pay you for it, at least Schnitzer in Woodinville will.
