I need an integrally suppressed 10/22 barrel cerakoted & am looking for a shop that can handle class 3 items .
I'm on the Olympic Peninsula but make it over to the Seattle Tacoma area regularly if there is anything that area . |
| You might want to check out http://madcustomcoating.com/, they're in Bremerton. |

He doesn't have an ffl to deal with nfa items . Any licensed FFL can work on NFA items. Does he just choose not to because of the paperwork? Reference: May a licensed gunsmith receive an NFA firearm for purposes of repair? |

| Interesting that the BATFE response says that it is "suggested" that the owner and repair shop get BATFE approval to move the item around...That seems to indicate that permission from BATFE is not "required", and rather it is "suggested". Clarification on this from BATFE would be interesting. |

| I have no intention of poking up BATFE. I was merely pointing out that their letter tries to make it sound like a requirement, while it is (currently at least) only a suggestion. That difference can make it much more convenient for people wanting to get a little work done. It beats the hell out of being "required" to get a permit simply to get a registered item taken some where for work. |
