I've been fighting a misfiring #8 cylinder on my truck for the last 6 weeks or so.  Changed the Plug, the COP (do what you will with that), and stared at the thing for hours on end.

Finally I gave up and took it to the garage that we take the other vehicle to.

After pulling the codes, they had to do some diagnostics and trouble tracing for an hour before finding the problem.

The guy calls up and tells me that I need to come in to the shop to see what the problem is ... after asking me if I had a rodent problem .

I get in there and see that the fuel injector control wire for #8 has a number of bite marks and in at least one place is chewed completely through!  This is NOT going to be an easy repair. #8 is on the driver's side against the firewall.

so, $426 later I get my truck back - and I need to stop at WallyWorld to get some mouse traps.  The little shit pooped all aver my battery!  He's going down (cue the theme from Caddy Shack)

This works well. I had a problem with rodents and an older toyota pickup, The above advice solved everything.

Must be really difficult to get those balls off the moths ... how many do I need? I gotta know if I need to leave the light on to attract more
