So apparently posting legal items (reloading equipment) for sale on CL is prohibited –– yet they allowed a grey market sex trade to be run off their site for years. And their system is so fucking stupid that they can't tell you that the ad is prohibited, they just let it sit in limbo showing 'active'. Fucktards. ETA: So, I ought to list this stuff here, just for shits and grins. New EE? Old EE? Both EE? |

Partial list of items for sale and services the advertisement of which is not permitted on craigslist:
* Weapons and related items, including but not limited to firearms, disguised, undetectable or switchblade knives, martial arts weapons, scopes, silencers, ammunition, ammunition magazines, BB guns, tear gas or stun guns. Why anyone would even try to use craigslist for anything firearms related in any way is just beyond me. Can you say "I tried to place an ad for gun stuff on a hippy flea market that sells stolen shit from all around the country, and I didn't even get a t-shirt"? And I got a bit of a hard time for voodoo donuts.

There are numerous other reloading listings on there so I figured it was ok. My only real bitch about this is that their system is so fucking stoned that it doesn't tell you when it has filtered out a post –– it shows as active and you can get to it via a direct URL. It would be al hell of alot clearer if the damn thing told you "hey! you can't post that here" instead of making you go deal with the morons in the help forum. |

The worst thing about Craigslist is the gawdamn sellers and and the gawdamn buyers  - If you sell something, describe everything about it and post a damn picture so I don't have to play endless fucking email tag with you because you can't be bothered with phone calls. | Your post isnt in limbo because its a prohibited item, its in limbo because their servers are busy or something. It shows as active but isnt actually availble to view unless you have the direct URL to that page. Ive posted things for sale or trade and have run into that problem. You simply delete the posting and try again with some different wording so it isn't filtered as a "dupe". Some locations are worse then others for this, Salt Lake had the worst Ive seen in my travels. I had a Motorola radio gang charger I was trying to sell and gave up after a couple days of my posts being delayed. |
