I think what matt is trying to say here is that while it is not against the "rules" to sell a gun that you legally own it is against the law to purchase with the intent to sell if you do not have an FFL. If you're going to be doing illegal shit it's probably not a good idea to post about it on the internet.

Quoted: Spend $30.00 on a Curios and Relics License from the ATF. That will satisfy the CMP. Last one I got took less than 30 days. It'll also get you dealer discounts at places like Midway and Brownell's You know I was looking at the C&R app from the ATF and why in the fuck would a person not be able to own a firearm if they don't have a hunting license? ![]() |

Copied from the application: 1. If you answered "NO," you likely cannot lawfully possess a firearm and therefore cannot be a federal firearms licensee. 2. If you answered "YES," complete the following information, and attach a copy of the hunting license or permit to the application. Would a CPL be the permit in question? Cause they way I read it it's a "hunting" permit or license. |

wait.. I have a weapons permit already but it doesnt satisfy this and a $30 membership to WA Rifle and Pistol would I guess. Membership in CMP Affiliated Organization: You must provide a copy of your current membership card or other proof of membership. This requirement cannot be waived. The CMP currently has over 2,000 affiliated organizations located in many parts of the country. Membership in many of these organizations costs $25.00 or less and can be accomplished online. A listing of affiliated organizations can be found by clicking on our Club Search web page at http://clubs.odcmp.com/cgi-bin/clubSearch.cgi. If you have any difficulty in locating a club, please contact the CMP at 256-835-8455 or by emailing CMP Customer Service. We will find one for you. In addition to shooting clubs, the CMP also has several special affiliates. Membership in these organizations satisfies our requirement for purchase. These special affiliates include: Congressionally chartered veterans' organizations such as the VFW, AL, DAV, MCL, etc. U.S. Military services (active or reserves), National Guard, to include retirees. Professional 501(c)3 law enforcement organizations and associations such as the FOP, NAPO, NSA, etc. Note: Club membership IS required for purchase of rifles, parts, and ammunition. Club membership is NOT required for instructional publications or videos or CMP memorabilia. |

Quoted: Do you understand the intent and purpose behind the CMP? To Promote marksmanship, and firearms safety?Big Fucking Deal, you have a carry permit. Explain to me how much access to organized matches that gets you? How about the training required to get that permit? See my point? Past that- It's starting to seem like, after reading your comments in here, that you are leaning towards trying to use this program to your advantage for financial gain, and all the while you're going to complain that it's going to cause you some form of financial stress that you're going to have to join the appropriate club. Perhaps you'd like to choose your words a bit more carefully? |

what iI was trying to get at is how does a c&r satisfy the cmp requirements? which is why i said iI already had a carry permit but the hole point was to what club would be best to sign up too. as for resale iI was womdering if there were some sort of rules against reselling a cmp which iI had no idea. |

The C&R satisfies the part about "Marksmanship or other Firearms Related Activity". Basically, they want some evidence that this isn't the first time you've handled a gun. WA CPL satisfies this req, too.
The Affiliated club req. can be met by joining the Garand Collector's Association for about $30 a year. With that, they electronically notify CMP of your membership and you get a quarterly GCA newsletter all about collecting Garands. I'm a proud CMP additct. Have purchased 3 or 4 Garands (latest an M1D), a RIA M1903 and gobs of ammo. Rob |

Quoted: Didn't you just ask post in another thread about CMP affiliated clubs. And you're a WAC member? in order to get true value from my membership I must attend.. lol havent gone enough times this year to justify my membership. Might be be the last show I attend anyways. stratfordwill is spot on, isn't he.

Quoted: I think its become blatantly clear that a person cannot ask an honest question in this forum. I feel bad for you spikedzombies. You should really do what the rest of us who have been here less than a year and not even bother on here. He got honest answers. Despite alluding to possibly purchasing the rifle with intent to sell it at a profit which is illegal without an FFL liscence. And when did you become the fucking spokeman for people who have been here a year or less? If you don't like it here, GTFO. Put your fist in a bucket of water, pull it out and see how much it's missed. |
