Last time I talked to Marion County they told me OR didnt offer out of state permits... has this changed in the last few months? or were they pulling my chain? You need to visit a county that is immediately adjacent to the WA state border. I got mine from the Grant Co. sheriffs office, last time I checked they do not border WA |

Adjacent counties are more likely to have been accepting apps for a long time. Each county Sheriff has the option of whether or not they will accept apps from out of state residents. I'll bet that the Grant County Sheriff sees a possible income stream from the out of state apps, where Marion County will tell you to fuck off. |

I've had my Multnomah County one for going on 9 months.. took them 4 months to issue the damn thing ![]() Multnomah County does indeed issue CHL to out of state applicants. The letter that out of state applicants need to include with their app should state that you travel, work, visit family and friends, and/or shop regularly in Portland or Oregon. If you have all your paperwork in order when you turn it in, all you have to do is wait. |
