I need the assistance of someone who knows what they are doing to help me install an electric cook-top to replace the piece of shit that was here when we moved in. Need to cut the hole a little wider, and wire it to the existing box. If anyone can do this or knows someone that does let me know.

Thanks!

What's the countertop made of?

If it's formica, there's nothing to it, and the wiring is simple, literally three wires.

Remember to save your plug connection from the old stove as long as it's in reasonable shape.

I was astounded when I first found out new stoves don't come with a plug.....

No plug as far as I can tell, just flexible conduit down to a standard break-out box.
