Is there a website that reports traffic volumes for interstate 5 and other freeways? Seems like traffic volume has dropped significantly around here, (eerily quiet at times), but would like to see something that confirms or denies. |

I'm sure that stuff is monitored somewhere.
Unfortunately, publishing those metrics, or making them easier for the public to get to, would enable the subjects to demand more accountability in where our road taxes go. And politicians would prefer not to answer to the public for their decisions, so good luck. |

The govt says it is because public transportation is finally catching on. ![]() Yeah, I watch the light rail go by my work once in a while. I see from 6 to 22 people on each set of cars. The guys that ride the bus to work say that they are getting to sit down now. A year ago it was SRO. Trust the government if you want, I don't. |

Quoted: Traffic is still a hell of a lot lighter now then say two years ago. I do need to give credit, where credit is due. On my wishlist was widening/extra lane on 405 and the same on I5 near Fife. They're actually doing it, I couldn't belive it. That being said, they'll probably turn them into a bike lane or someshit. |

Now if they'd do something about the damn exchange between 405 south and 167, a large portion of that corridor of traffic would be resolved. |

What they didn't do is anything about the interchange. It's still a one lane offramp that backs up to the S curves. All the new lanes are After the offramp. The S curves still need something done. Which there is some construction going on around there, not sure what they are doing yet. |
| They are putting in a new on/off ramp between the Hwy 167 and Hwy 169 exits. That will make for much easier access to the arfcompound. I like how on exit 2 they have a lane now specifically for exiting off onto 167 from 405, and the main right lane is used for getting into Renton. |

I'll tackle it tomorrow. Daytraders. sigh... I think this is exactly what you are looking for, good luck compiling the data into something easy to read by year. FYI, it doesn't look like 2009 is release yet. Still looks like homework, so I expect to see it on my desk by tomorrow morning! |
| I did my own study when I use to drive the Evergreen Point floating bridge every day for years. Traffic started getting less from Jan until June. Then it started to get liter yet. Around Sept. it started getting heavier again until Jan. I always attributed this to schools. |

It's entirely likely you aren't looking for this kind of info, but this kind of thing is handy to have when you need it:
