Well, thinking bout taking the plunge......
Thoughts? Feelings?

I'm very impressed with it. Back up your stuff, and take the plunge. Just remember, the RC expires next year, so be prepared to buy a copy between now and then. Discussion on Windows 7 in Urban Commandos: http://www.ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=1&f=124 |

Well apparantlly there is still not a 64 bit flash player....... Linky There are actually two shortcuts for Internet Explorer in the "All Programs" menu. Why two and what's the difference? Here's the title of each and the exe's they run: Internet Explorer "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" Internet Explorer (64-bit) "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" The first one runs IE from the "Program Files (x86)" folder, this is the 32-bit version. The second one is the 64-bit version. |

Quoted: I took that to mean you couldn't get Flash to play on your 64 bit machine. You can, you just have to run it in 32 bit mode. Had to run my desktop gadgets in 32 bit mode to get my pandora gadget to work too...No biggie. To be honest, at this point I'd run IE in 32 bit mode until everyone gets on board with their plugins. |

cannot figure out how to turn off the annoying "bonk" sound everytime I hit a submit button or such in IE8 lol its in the sound control panel. i believe IE has its own category of sounds, but i think its like "begin navigation" or something. i don't know who the genius was that added that as a feature, but its been in since some version of XP or IE. |

http://technabob.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/04/bob_large.jpg It turns out that there’s an entire functional copy of the 1995 Microsoft BOB operating system hidden inside of Windows Vista. BOB was supposed to be an easy-to-use interface for Windows 3.2, complete with fuzzy animated characters (who eventually led to “Clippy” the paper clip in Microsoft Office.) First, you need to make sure you have full administrative permissions on your machine. Then, go to the Start menu and enter “W.0.w.B.0.b.” (note that those are Zeros not Os) while holding down the Alt key. Then, set your system time zone to “Cairo”. The next time you reboot, type in the same phrase backwards and you’ll be in the Windows Bob environment, complete with all of the original features. Once BOB is activated you can set your clock back to your regular time zone.
Looks like GMW found a time machine back to 4/1/07

Very pleased with W7 so far. (32bit at home, 64bit at work. both laptops) I now willingly withdraw all of my deathwishes directed towards those who created Vista. ![]() (now we just need to go after the creators of Office 2007 with a lynch mob. Sick twisted bastards!) |

Nice.....I'm going with 'Yes'.
