Does anybody know where to find brass stock locally?......I need a 2.5" x 2.5" x .180 [thick] piece   I would go for German Silver if that were available.

Tried hobby shops, lumber stores, and craft stores.

and fyi Patch...I didn't f it up...I'm just unhappy with the fit of the piece that came with the kit............

I'm considering a contrasting exotic wood like Ebony to reolace the part

I really gotta quit messing with you about that......I will admit, last time I saw the stock hanging in your garage, it was looking pretty damn nice!!!!

Anxious to see the browning buddy!

A dark exotic wood would look good...but the brass really set it off...the gaps however are maddening...and that's what I'm trying to fix.

No...I've got to cut and drill it to the shape I need.  it is being used as a spacer between a two piece Kentucky rifle stock.

it’s really a shame too, as I used to do quite a bit of business there; from computers, tools, to hardware … and there were a few good deals to be had there … it was all about timing though

Sweet...another hurdle jumped..........The staining of the stock turned out well...a nice reddish brown that popped out what grain pattern I have.....[birch]
I'll get the spacer made and be able to measure and drill for the barrel pins.......then It's finally time to brown the barrel and some small bits....all the while hand rubbing oil into the stock.
