So never thought much about it in the past when I heard people talk of a tooth hurting so much they couldn't sleep at all...
UNTIL NOW! I got one so bad I have no idea what tooth its coming from. I suspect it is coming from the one that was crowned a couple months back. But the pain seems to shift from the bottom of my mouth to the top so I don't have a clue. Going on 7 hours now and still no relief the only thing that helps is cold water, I hope that isn't actually aggrivating it more. Found out eating anything hot hurts like hell. I just can't believe how fast and strong this came on. One minute I was fine next bam knock me on my ass while I tea up like a little baby. Don't think I will get any sleep tonight. |

I cracked a molar 2 years ago and found out what pain was. I know exactly what you mean about you can't tell where it's coming from. Mine was on the bottom of my mouth and shot pain in and around my jaw and ear. I suffered till they yanked it. It was BAD! Sorry man. I know tooth pain can be horrible. Get in and see somebody. ASAP |

Had a tooth go bad in October while I was in TN.
Now I know why so many transients get GI Bleeds from taking Asprin for toothaches. Broke the same tooth after the root canal, before the crown. That hurt too. Asprin, Ibuprofin or Aleve until you can see the dentist. Good luck! |

I 've ended up in the ER with one once. It looked like someone had popped me with a baseball bat though and my dentist was on vacation. I wasn't admitted but I did get plumbed for an IV and got 2 courses of anti's and a couple of jabs of morphine.
Toothaches are nothing to laugh at. |

I would advise against taking aspirin, take other pain relief if possible.
I had to get a tooth pulled once because of a tooth ache, I had been taking aspirin all nite, aspirin thins the blood. Well after the tooth was pulled my blood wouldn't clot for 2 days. Way more to the story just don't take aspirin before getting dental work. |

Vicodin is your friend.
If you're desperate, go to an Urgent Care/drop in medical place and explain the situation. They will probably give you a scrip or even a couple of pills. and you can get some relief. FWIW, I've done exactly this. On a Saturday, to tide me over till I could get the tooth pulled on Monday. |

Had a similar problem 2 months ago when a molar got infected. It caused the entire lower jaw to hurt and half of the top.
I suggest getting into your dentist asap, the longer you try and wait it out the worse it will get. I got to the point where i was trying to pull it out with a pair of vice grips due to not being able to find a dentist that had time to pull it. Go figure google emergency dentist and they all wanna make appointments for the next week. Finally found a dentist that pulled it for me and a bunch of puss/poison came shooting out with it. As Dad always said "Two things in life can make a man drop to his knees and cry, women and tooth pain" |
