Are you sayin' nobody has Kimbers, or just those 3 models you're after? Pretty sure Bullseye has some Kimbers. I know I've seen a Raptor there before. You can have my Custom II for 1500 bucks! Just those 3 model's. I called bullseye and they only have the Desert Warrior. |

Cool. So what do you like about the SIS, as opposed to other models? Seems they're great except for the horrible serrations. I'm pretty sure they're non-series II also. I agree on the serrations on the SIS but I've shot it and the trigger was amazing and it was accurate. The other 2 are up in the air and want to get a in person view of them. If not I will be getting the SIS. |

Why not just get a Custom TLE RL II, the SIS is basically the same gun with custom cuts on the slide. The TLE RL II has the standard cuts and is about $200-$300 less. Does the TLE have a better internal extractor and no series II parts? I havent read up on the TLE. |

Some of the TLE's have external extractors, some internal. Obviously I'd say go with the internal one. |

Schwartz safety is the firing pin lock deactivated by the grip safety, right? Sounds like a good idea. Is it not a good idea? Yes. This is hotly debated as 1911s go. Purists would argue that there should be no FP safety in a 1911, whether Swartz (as used by Kimber and S&W) or the Colt series 80 style. I don't know. I'd tend to agree, but on the other hand, EVERY modern pistol design has a FP safety of some sort....Glock, Beretta, Sig, on and on. So I really don't see the big deal. The FP safety in my own Kimber has never given me a problem. Gun runs fine. Purists say "what if it breaks when you shoot for your life with it?" Same could be said for EVERY other type of modern pistol. I say that's what backup guns are for. Page 2 says the Swartz safety is fine. |
