I'm located on Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor. I'm willing to drive any where on the westside of the state. I thought that Mary's pistols was closed on Sundays.

Are you sayin' nobody has Kimbers, or just those 3 models you're after?

Pretty sure Bullseye has some Kimbers.  I know I've seen a Raptor there before.

You can have my Custom II for 1500 bucks!

Discount Gun Sales in Kirkland had/has the SIS.

Guns and Shizzle (Surplus Ammo & Arms) had a Raptor yesterday. Not sure if it's the exact model you have listed...

Cool.

So what do you like about the SIS, as opposed to other models?  Seems they're great except for the horrible serrations.  I'm pretty sure they're non-series II also.

I agree on the serrations on the SIS but I've shot it and the trigger was amazing and it was accurate. The other 2 are up in the air and want to get a in person view of them. If not I will be getting the SIS.

I bought my Kimber at Sportco in Fife.  Don't know if they have the models you're looking for, but you could call them and find out.

I do hear nice things about the SIS.  I think it's a "custom shop" gun, rather than a run-o-the-mill one, like my Custom II.  I think.

I've been real happy with my own Kimber.  DravisAR has one too, seems to like it.

Why not just get a Custom TLE RL II, the SIS is basically the same gun with custom cuts on the slide.  The TLE RL II has the standard cuts and is about $200-$300 less.

Cabelas has the covert, as far as the SIS goes if you find one buy it immediately.  No one has them, Ive personally been looking for the pro SIS and cant find one.

Does the TLE have a better internal extractor and no series II parts? I havent read up on the TLE.

If it says "II" on the slide, it's series II with the Swartz FP safety.

Some of the TLE's have external extractors, some internal.  Obviously I'd say go with the internal one.

Schwartz safety is the firing pin lock deactivated by the grip safety, right?

Sounds like a good idea.  Is it not a good idea?

Yes.

This is hotly debated as 1911s go.  Purists would argue that there should be no FP safety in a 1911, whether Swartz (as used by Kimber and S&W) or the Colt series 80 style.

I don't know.  I'd tend to agree, but on the other hand, EVERY modern pistol design has a FP safety of some sort....Glock, Beretta, Sig, on and on.  So I really don't see the big deal.

The FP safety in my own Kimber has never given me a problem.  Gun runs fine.

Purists say "what if it breaks when you shoot for your life with it?"  Same could be said for EVERY other type of modern pistol.

I say that's what backup guns are for.

Page 2 says the Swartz safety is fine.

DJ's in Bothell always has a case of .45's with quite a few Kimbers in it. Pretty sure that I have seen a SIS Kimber there.

I have had 0 problems with my TLE II, and it is definitely a shooter.
