Local guy selling a Mini-14 built in 1999. I've owned one before and liked it enough but since all the "Ban" stuff went down I haven't kept up with the market.
Would a 1999 Mini be a comprimise in any way? Not to compared to AR's...I'm familiar with the fundamental differences. Does $600 sound like a reasonable number? It's Stainless with black plastic stock. I'm not giving up on the AR dream, I just wanted to see if this could get me by until the crazy stuff passes... Thanks, SrDesigner |

The newer 580 series Minis with the thicker barrel are pretty nice rifles. I have one of the 16" NRA specials and I'm really happy with it, good for about 1.5 MOA.
Mags have always been a problem in the past but Ruger seems to have changed it's attitude a little and is currently selling factory 20s to the public for $29. I've had excellent luck with steel ProMag 20s so I'm in no hurry to add to the two Ruger mags that came with my rifle. You can get blued 18" wood stocked example brand new at Wallyworld for well under $700. A used SS is probably worth $450 - $500... www.perfectunion.com is the best resource for Mini info. |

I've been all over the net looking for parts and there's NOTHING available for AR's. At least not for a year or so. Who know's, I could get an order placed and get it cancelled by legislation before it ever ships... I was just looking for something to call my own, before the inevitable. I'll see if he'll come down to $500, if I can't get it for that I'll hold out for a miracle in the AR market. Thanks again, SrDesigner |
