My Zune locked up this morning, as well as the other 30 million units sold across the US.
Normally Microsoft has been pretty good about replacing their hardware fuckups (See XBox), but I'm pretty sure this means my bonus is gonna suck in 2009. Goodbye Zune, Goodbye 2008.

2008 was great for me..
Took a huge promotion and pay raise by bailing from the company I spent 10 years with. Turned 30 with some damn good friends on hand. We killed an expensive bottle of JW Gold that I had had for a few years looking for a reason to crack it open! 
Married my best friend, and had one hell of a honeymoon! 
Found out that I have a kid on the way (and I'm truely excited about it) 
Only the last two weeks have sucked... Losing my job wasn't exactly planned, but I still stand behind the reason being bullshit. 
Looking forward to the new year! Shooting & camping with my friends starting in January Finding a BETTER job, with less commute, and more pay! 
Can't wait until May for the birth of my kid! |
Frankly, it was a hard year.
More work, less pay, and less play than past years. But I can also see how I'm a better person for it. 
I did make a bunch of new friends this year. Friends that are good people, (not just acquaintances of convenience,) and hopefully, picking friends like that says something about my character. 
But I also made some great memories, and in the end, that's all we get to keep anyways. Some of those were with the WaHtF. Thanks guys (and gals)! 
Basically, I'm glad it's over, and ready for something new.

Not counting financial, I have had a truly great year. Miracles happened.
My son, who has had 4 life saving operations is in omission, 1st time in 12 years, and working full time in a great job and finally has a future. My daughter, who is 32 and has a professional careerer got married for the 1st time and is expecting a baby girl.-WOW My other 2 sons have a very friendly relationship, well 1 anyway, the other is getting better. My wife and I are having a better relationship than ever. I would have a hard time asking for more. |

2008 was good for me.
I love my job, wife, kids, etc. No complaints there, and every year those remain with me, it's a big +1! Most of my friends did okay this past year. A few lost jobs or loved ones, and that sucks, but over 80% of them tell me that they are doing fine....even if a couple do hate their wife. That's another + 1 (or 0.80). I welcome 2009. Maybe I'll even get access back to my WAMU saving accounts and CDs.

Life's been hard, this has been a so and so year, ending with downside economic bust, health hicups, and a storm to top it off. There have been better years for sure, but I'm not complaining, still above water, have a good family, someplace to go home & eat. I just wish I was retired and drinking margaritas on the beach somewhere |

I could have done without the concussion from a 6"wide x12"high x 20'Long Wood Beam, whacking me on the head while I was on a 6 foot ladder. Naturally, I went straight down, knocked out.
Good thing the beam decided to fall to the left of the ladder and not the right side, or my head would have been bye-bye, smashed up as I fell to the right of the ladder. 
Otherwise this year has been fine. |
