Gen. Pop Story
Some guy posted a story about how Mr.s Coulter's Jaw is wired shut. . and consequentially the mod. banned the guy, FOR WHAT SEEMS LIKE, posting the article. . I really hope there is more to this story. . . I was always raised with the idea that if you believe in something you validly and rationally argue your point. . Not just ban someone for having a different opinion than yours. That's something far worse than socialism. . . Tell me there's more to the story here. . . seems really unjustified. *EDIT* just noticed there is like 11 pages! hopefully the guy did something more than just being a counterpoint. . I mean regardless of his political orientation the guy has like 2000 posts. . |

"Rational argument" only applies if you're talking to someone who is already close to your own viewpoint...how much close is a function of how open-minded one is. Doesn't matter if you are right-wing, left-wing, neither/both...narrow minds exist everywhere. And why do people insist on using words they don't know the meaning of? Censorship isn't socialism, nor does socialism demand censorship. Otherwise, I have nothing to answer your question. |

Sounds like GD to me. Aw, two posts later BK bans him. I'm sorry, that's not consistent with the mean spirited posts GD is famous for. The guy might need banning, but not for that post imo. I'm aware it's their rules, but it's my choice no to subsidize heavy handed sites. |

However the offenses were contrived, not accidental, IMO. (the result looks heavy handed at a glance, but it was really only late justice. The replies in the thread reveal overwhelming support) |

I'm a political science major. . . I know what Socialism is. . . I wasn't implying it was censorship, was just making a point. . . and yea generally I don't care about GD but it just SEEMED to me the mod was being an outright dick. . I know he has that right but didn't expect it from ARF. . . this is just IMHO
Also for the record someone once informed me I was in "the pit" or that stupid list of trolls. . . I asked the creater why I was on the list, 2 days later he said he made a mistake and took me off the list. . .I just didn't know I could get outright banned for being a dick. . . ESPECIALLY in GD?? |
| I was in that thread. It was not so bad. Apparently they had been fed up with him for a long time. Some were begging for DLoken to go next. As far as Ann C. I think she's pretty much right on the money but not everybody appreciates the way she presents herself. |

I don't know anything about the guy or the thread. I am Conservative but when it comes to the loudmouth Ann Coulter I can understand many reasons why her mouth would be wired shut.
I don't understand why people who are suppose to be or have intelligence think that it is OK to interrupt and or talk over someone else. Not that she is the only talking head that does it. |

People don't get warned/locked/or banned for disagreeing with the Presidents policies but how they go about expressing it can certainly result in any or all of those. The ban hammer when finally swung does move fast but it usually takes a fair amount for it to start moving. It sure looked like his main purpose here was to poke at the generally conservative member base on what is first and foremost a firearms website yet he had little to no interests in firearms. If a person makes it a point to constantly be disruptive to the site they just aren't likely to be allowed to continue with that. Several years ago I recall there being little to no tolerance for threads started for the purposes of expressing glee in Sarah Bradys lung cancer. |
