Okay, I know I have seen it before here, but anyone have any good resources for study materials? And when I say good I mean good and inexpensive! LOL

Itching to get this done............

VE Here:

Remember:

1) If the question gives you a frequency or a band, divide it into 300 (approximate math in your head) and that should get you close enough to pick to one of the answers (e.g. Which band is 144 Mhz in?  300/144 = aprx 2, therefore, 2m Band).  Works when you are given the band or the frequency. Don't get hung up on decimal values - go for the whole number answer, unless it's obviously near .7 (70cm).

2) If desperate, the longest answer with the most technical sounding terms is the correct answer. One or two exceptions to this one, but generally very true.

3) If given a question where one of the answers is "All of the above", the odd are that this is the correct answer. Again, some exceptions (2?) but the odds are on your side with this choice when all else fails. If you're studying to just pass the test, memorize the exceptions.

4) In any event where there is risk to life or property (i.e. disaster or emergency) it is legal to use any means of communication at your disposal. They ask this one in several different ways.

5) Know the relationships between the major metric values used in amateur radio (Mega, Kilo, Centi, milli)

Numbers 2 & 3 assume that you're taking a test from the 2007 ARRL question pool.

Good Luck & 73!
