Not since I picked up the Sprint broadband card a few months ago. Before that, I was connecting at a whopping 26.4

Out here in the backwoods of Colorado, I've got an old electric IBM typewriter.  I type off what I want posted, it gets hand delivered to the pony express rider who gallops as fast as he can east until he gets to Kansas City.  In KC, the message is sent by telegram to New York City where it is edited for spelling and grammar, then given a liberal slant.  It is then photographed, stored on in triplicate on microfilm, and after a three day quarantine period it is then dictated to a one handed secretary with a limp, and a lazy eye to be posted onto a newsgroup dedicated to Malaysian midget bestiality.  From there Silly_look sees it and posts it on here.   I think this is still faster than 56kbps.

That's not true.  We know your hand-eye coordination isn't good enough.

I'm more willing to believe that you hired someone to get you Stephen Hawkings wheelchair, and you are posting from that.

The point to this thread is that whenever an OP posts a picture, they put a 56k death warning.  I think it's sort of pointless, as there really aren't a whole lot of people fessing up to using 56k.

No, it's not a way of telling everyone to stop giving warnings.  It's just to satisfy my curiosity.

I THINK (but I'm not sure) the 56k death warning has become a board tradition, like pie, 106, and bringing the beer and a measuring device in dinner pix....

And it's available everywhere – even where cable Internet and DSL don't reach.

It ain't worth the money, slow for DSL, you lose connection during bad weather and it is about as spendy as any connection. (even Comcunt)
