Is this Crap, for Air soft? Anbody have it? Sure its not Trij, or other starting at $1000, but is it a decent optic for $80 (bang for buck).
If anyone has this, or similar, mounted directly on flat top? or riser?

Thanks,

The scope is designed to sit in the handguard groove.  Why it has two adapters is beyond explanation.

There were a few guys over on Mp.net who were using them on their ARs with success. Im not sure how it would hold up but it might be worth a try.

Checking my email, the Cabela's weekly flyer was in the inbox, they're selling it for $99.99, here's there write up.
"This general use scope was designed on the tactical principle of quick target acquisition and rapid firing. The waterproof, fogproof and shockproof qualities make it extremely reliable for advanced combat firearms. Get instant and accurate targeting with unlimited eye relief and the illuminated tactical reticle. The 30mm objective lens gathers a maximum amount of light. Standard 5/8" base with windage and elevation adjustments. One-year limited warranty. "

Worse case scenario, might end up on my Scout project...

Wait... Are you buying optics to a black rifle you don't have?  Or did you make a purchase that I'm not supposed to tell your wife about?!?!?!

You get what you pay for.

It will work.... for a while at least.

Barska has a reputation for producing some pretty substandard optics.  Biggest problem is with the quality of their glass.

If it's just for plinking, you'll be alright.

First of all, you must realize that this is a red dot style scope duded up to look like a trijicon.  This sight will have NO magnification.  You cannot have "unlimited eye relief" and have amagnified optic.

Second of all, with the trij dress up attempt comes a smaller internal diameter tube, and extra weight.  It may be a small amount of extra weight, but it is still there.

I personally have no use for duded up crap.

If I were on a budget, i'd stick with a tasco pro-point.  Back in the day before I could afford an aimpoint, I had a pro-point and it lasted quite awhile, did what I needed it to, didn't lose zero, and was eventually passed onto a friend who used it for a few years as well.

Try SWFA TASCO PRO POINTS

I'd personally go for the bigger tube diameter models, like the 1x32 at the bottom of the page.

Meh.....it's an off time right now.  Things are going smoothly, nobody has my ire worked up, and i'm feeling pretty good.

The weather could be better, but other then that, things are fine.

Also, after some of the other shit going on in a couple of other threads (brokenstuff type threads) I figured that somebody else has the market cornered on assholeiness right now.

Hmm, interesting point. Was reading,, somewhere, i'll try to remember where, but this one Tacitcool fellow was preaching the benifits of "High Mounted" optics, and how it reduces reaction time. i.e. less travel from a carry/ entry/sneaky position to firing positon. That being said, it must be nice to be able to shoot the above rig from your waist.

had to edit this post, i think the pictured setup is stooopid(scope, on mount, on handle mount, on carry handle), I like my rifles compact, and not 2 feet high.

C'mon you weenie!  There's got to be something said for being able to hip shoot and still use an optic.....

AU show up at the next LCR and remind me to bring it and I'll bring you a Tru Glo red dot you can have. So long as when your done with it you pass it on.

It's like this one but the 40mm version.

aaahhhh, good folk stepping up to help me (free too!), but I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna make LCR until either more help arrives, or my new boy can hold a riffle,,so, maybe this winter

I bought a Barska, different model.  I had the biggest problem zeroing it in.  By the time I discovered the adjustments weren't working the warantee expired and Barska told me they would not take it back.  Last Barska I'll ever buy.

Alright alright, i'm sold, err, unsold. I'll keep saving my milk money for the nice guns, and get a tasco red dot etc. for the beater/scout projects.
Thanks for all the... advise.

Crap, my BIL had two. First one wouldn't set level on the rifle, so he took it back, and #2 had the exact same issue. So he returned it and saved up for a real ACOG.
