of water failure...

Last night, afternoon-ish, no fucking water. (= no drink)

Cause= Horses think its funny to rip out their own underground water supply, and drag it out to pasture, approximately 45 yards.

Two+ hours later, found parts with much haste and despair, pried old dried glue can open, cussed, & fixt.

10 minutes later, find more un-natural springs inside pumphouse than fingers available. Fuckit. Saturdays are always excellent days for fixing shit that you're too tired to fuck with on Friday nights. Work on tomorrows hangover.

Saturday, morning, hangover <son of a...>, no shower..... lets go get some parts.

Work, two stores, three parts, hangover.

20 minutes max spent, but the #^%&#%^ still fucking leaks due to a bad batch of teflon tape. WTF?

Wait, maybe that whirling and sucking sound means there ain't no water to the pump... ? (never mind the new leak)

Fuck. (anyone else here get their water from a natural spring? It ain't all that natural, is it?)

5 hours later, source fixt. (too complicated to explain)

New-Old leak seems meager, or at least in a newly-appreciated perspective.

Same pump noises, working on new hangover, need shower....

Doesn't Trifecta imply 3? (ish)

If you see me at the air show, be nice. I may be irritable.

Update, fixt, mostly.... after a toilet not flushing due to angle valve plugging up. (what are the odds of that happening first thing this morning? Really?)

And, I'm wearing my sons jeans, since the brand new washer is now officially out of commission, and all my jeans are covered with new plumbing-mud. (Code: "F-32" which indicates a pressure switch failure.... wonderful)

Took the laundry to town, said fuck the air show that I've been waiting months to see, and got home to find the riser for the horses water doesn't fucking work. Plenty of water every where else, just not in the washer, or in the horse trough.

Turns out the plumbing repairs were fine. But one of the horses snuck in to the shop last night, stole a wrench, and loosened the adjustment bolt on the riser handle. This is the only logical reason for that bolt to be loose. (regular comedians, aren't they?)

Did I mention the weekend camping trip that the plumbing repairs canceled for us, where we would have been only 20 minutes from the air show?

Normally, I try to keep my online sniveling to a minimum..... but this kind of bullshit ...could lead to very heavy drinking.

Thanks for your support.

I never made the connection about you having horses but is that why the fences started showing up in your river photos?

A friends' grandma down in West Virginny just had a hose from the river to her mobile home. It was a summer home so she would just go up stream and drop the end of the hose in the water when she showed up in summer and tie it to a tree for the winter. No pump problems if you don't have a pump.
