Are there any Boeing MR&D/Catia Tooling designer-tech-type folks on this board? I gotz questions...
|
I don't have the time to write a whole bunch right now, but I plan to IM you this afternoon...thanks. |
Apologies for being late... ![]() IM inbound. |
I don't have much experience with the Enovia collaborative software or Delmia simulation software. Most of my experience is with Catia V5 from release R7 through to R17. I assume that Enovia runs similarly to a Solidworks PDM vault software and Delmia is similar to a Solidworks/Cosmosworks FEA & simulation software but I am not sure. Hey, Getnlwr...if you think Catia V5/Enovia/Delmia software on MS Windows is a PITA, you should've seen Catia V4.2.4 in Solaris UNIX! |
![]() You picking on me? If you think 4.2.4 was bad you should try being stuck doing wiring on it for ~12 years (and counting). |
I dont have any experiance wilt Unix. I was told by some of the older people here that what were are using has gotten WORSE by a large majority. I deal with Delmia about 4 hours out of my day and I hate it. |
Yeah, I'm not too enamored of Dassault...and they really gheyed the living shit out of Solidworks with release 2008... We run on 32 and 64-bit Windows workstations, but our stuff is still managed by a Sun Microsystems Solaris UNIX master server running Solaris 10 and our stuff gets saved on a UNIX RAID with a SAMBA 3 filesystem on it and rsync'ing to a back-up. There was a lot of stuff I enjoyed about V4 Solaris was a rock-solid OS and being a closet Linux whore I loved the UNIX file-structure and command-line interface. V5 on Windows has it's own advantages as well...great with drawings and I like the "snap" functionality. |
