I plan to start reloading 223 and maybe 9mm soon. Can someone recommend a good puget sound area supplier for powder and components? Do any WAHTF members ever get together for large online powder buys to save on hazardous materials shipping charges? |

Bi-mart runs sales pretty often and carries a pretty good selection of powder, primers and bullets. I have bought powder and primers from them. Bullets I mostly order from Widners. I don't think you need to get together a very big order before ordering powder and primers from Powder Valley makes sense. |

I get powder from Midway when they have it on sale for $10.99/lb. Buy 20+ pounds and you have effectively cancelled out the hazmat fee. Go by ground. Haven't tried any of the pulldown powder, as I prefer new, and I like having load data I can depend on. Bullets (projectiles, not loaded rounds) from Widener's, Midway, other sources, also purchased in bulk amounts of 1,000-5,000. Send by ground and watch for their flat rate shipping promos to reduce cost. Primers I pick up locally at Sportsman's warehouse where you can get a 10% case price discount. Sure you pay tax, but no shipping, and no hazmat fee. I haven't found a spectacular buy on primers anywhere that made sense to buy them online. Due to shipping limits and low relative cost, the haz mat fee eats into any benefit you might find when they are on sale. If you plan to shoot a fair amount, buy in bulk. Powder doesn't go bad if you store it correctly as I have loaded 5-10 year old powder without issues, same with projectiles. I usually only have about 5,000 primers at any given time. |

Just received a primer and powder order from powder valley yesterday... well, actually my neighbor received it as the ups/fedex guy just left it on his doorstep. "hey Wayne, are you expecting a big box of gun powder?" "what do you do with this stuff anyway?" Guess my cover is blown. ![]() PV is out of the small and large Wolf rifle primers and I was wondering if the upcoming show in Monroe would likely have these, and for about how much? PV gets $90 for 5K + 20 hazmat and a few bucks for shipping/insurance. Call it ~ $120 for 5K. Gun show prices for the same are about how much? Thanks |

dont forget... if you set up in your garage you cant store anything flammable within 25 feet http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=70.74.330 if over 25 lbs stored and just in general a good idea powder needs to be in a 3/4inch plywood cabinet http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=70.74.340 cant own more than 10,000 primers in a residence and again kept more than 25 feet from flammable material http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=70.74.350 |

I have a neighbor that's fairly well up on the Sportsman's Whorehouse foodchain.....He has told me that IF you press the Firearms or componenents manager Manager a bit, they WILL cut a break for bulk purchasees. I. E. three or four 8# kegs, and 10K primers............. |

I saw thoes also. Seeing "Magnum" on the box through me. Can they be used for 223? |
Sure, I changed from CCI400 to 450's. Just back the load off a bit and re-work it. |
I comply by every WA state law. 'Cause 10,001 primers might well kill my whole block should the house go up! |
