Okay.......I want my damn rifle! WAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
Been doing a bunch of research as of late and obviousley have 2 routes to go........buy one, either new or used, or build one.

Here is my situation: In Mid-late February I will have between $1000-$1500 to spend on my AR. Of course, I want to spend as little as possiable but yet aquire the best rifle I can for the price. I have noted that the prices for new/used rifles fly all over the place......$800 and up.

I have also noted, that it seems there are a vast amount of kits out there for pretty reasonable prices.

So, what do you all think? Wait till I have $$$ in hand and buy whatever best deal I can or just gather all the needed parts and build one myself?

Anyone reccomend and good build resources for kits and such?

Any thoughts greatly appreciated!!

Ohhhhhhhhhh..............have my Chip McCormick Super Match trigger group to build arround, so wont need that.........

Buy...
You can never build just one

I'd build. If Oly decides to continue to show at the gunshows, get a lower and a complete upper from them at the next one.

Or pick up a lower and order parts from M&A Parts.

If you just want a rifle and don't care to much, build.  If you are patient, you can get most of the parts on the EE to build a frankengun for $500-$600, with maybe a trip to mary's or an order from Rainier.

If you think you'll ever try to sell it buy a complete rifle.  They have better sell value, especially a few specific brands.

My personal recomendation, buy a complete rifle in the $800-$900 range (If you have the money).  Then add parts slowly.   That's how I've been working on my m4gery.

Uhmmm...try this link for starters $570 "new" rifles

Then decide. Personally, I'd buy at least one of the CMMG builds and swap out what I didnt want, like the 4 POS stock(pun intended). Add a rear sight and yer in business.
If I didnt have a safe fulla ARs I'd go this route myself. Hell, I may still after New Years.

Yeah, they were both OLY, and you were selling them on AR15.COM.  You know better.  The WAHTF knows they are good rifles, unfortunately the rest of this place doesn't agree.

I was just about to post the CMMG rifle deal, it's a steal for a first gun, or a cheap second gun.

I guess I don't appreciate the CMMG deal. I paid about that for my first AR with a lower from Mary's and a kit from Del-ton.

Personally, I like Bushmaster and Colt and have been studying up on Oly arms........hoping to buy/build as close as i can get to one of those with the funds i will have.

My ideal would have been to have $850 yesterday for that Bushie that was on CL!!!! Then could built it up to my liking.......:)

Thats sorta high for a franken-build. Last rifle I built from parts was about $400, but Im patient and cheap.

Saw a nice S&W M4gery at Sportsmans Warehouse this weekend for $999.  Very sweet looking little rifle.  I F-Fed it for awhile but eventually put it back on the shelf.
