The only one "worth" buying is the carbine.
don't even bother with the rest.

The pistol I had shot without a single problem. Ugly as hell, but it worked fine.

As a gun, the Hipoint is shit. Get a rock. More reliable, even cheaper and it just may be better looking. Some cheap guns are potmetal. The Hipoint is slag. Only a baby step better than the Stallard from whence it came.

I have one in 40SW, I have never had anykind of malfunction. It is way heavy but shoots strait. If you run out of ammo and throw it at a bad guy it would surely kill him. My wife likes to shoot it also, recoil is not bad at all.

I don't know about that. If you stop by Mary's you can ask them to see my Stallard (unless they took it home), and they will bring you a bag of parts to look at. The slide on my Stallard cracked at the ejection port under recoil, and the front half of it went downrange. The frame is destroyed because I dispatched the evilness with a .45 from my friends Glock 30. I have yet to hear of a HiPoint pistol splitting its slide.

Still, my opinion is to save money for a better pistol; buy a carbine if you want cheap thrills.

I have a cheap ass K-Mart tool kit that I keep in my truck.  I consider it expendable.  Now that cheap ass tool kit has been used to repair some "life" altering problems out on the roads and trails for me and some complete strangers.

The Hi-Point is sort of like the K-Mart tool kit.  It will get you out of a scrape but it will never be something to show off with pride to your friends.

If I got a good deal on a Hi-Point pistol or carbine, I'd take it.

They're a step above a Jennings/Bryco etc but still aint much of a pistol. A friend of mine who wasn't legal to carry in his home state always bought these cheap ass pistols for $75 or less because he'd toss e'm if he thought he was about to encounter a cop, jay-walking/speeding etc. The Hipoint is a lil large for carry but its in the same league. Great if its still there when yer done talking to the cop, if not ,only $75 wasted not $1000 fine and a week in jail awaiting a hearing.

Anyone seen a hi-point collectors website?

So did he have a ton of stolen gun reports filed with the local PD?

Just get a CZ-52 instead.  They are $50-$75 dollars more or so, but are a much better pistol.  They fire the 7.62x25 round, which is pretty good. Plus you can get a CZ-52 with a 7.62x25 barrel, and then later get a 9mm barrel as well.  Just swap barrels and fire the other kind of round.

hi-point's...

Pistols,
Its not much of a gun,
Not much of a looker,
Not many features,
Does go bang every time, if you keep it clean and oiled.
money well spent.

Carbines,
Very dependable.
If you can get past the 10rd mags...
They win every contest! Dollar for Dollar!
They are without doubt the the ugliest weapon,    ,ever made.
And every one will make fun of you for not spending more money

Now to convince my buddy that not only is it inexpensive, but it's also cheap.
