Yeah no kidding. A friend of mine bought a brand new P3AT took it to the range after one mag the cheap POS little bar that holds the whole gun together almost worked all the way off. Didn't desire a Sin City style Slide in head copy so He took it right back to the dealer. Needless to say I have never even given them any though of existence. |
I had a little P32, and I loved the thing, I put at least 2K through that little pistol, and it did not skip a beat, I ended up getting rid of it, but wish I would have kept it. |
At the risk of participating in the hi-jacking of my own thread, Kel-Tec does not spend a lot of time on prettying up of their guns, but OTOH does not automatically void the warranty of any of their guns that the owner does work on. As for defective guns, every manufacturer cranks one out that skips past QC every once in a while. Kel-Tec has a pretty good rep when it come to speedily replacing any defective merchandise they may crank out. The wife's P32 woulds not be my first choice for self-defense, but it's reliable, and concealable. She got me a Sub2000 carbine for my birthday, and the thing is a hoot and a half to shoot, and with the folding-in-half feature (designed in, just to pre-empt any smart ass remarks ) makes it very handy for home-defense--it fits in a night-stand drawer, but is easily and quickly put into action. Again, it won't win any beauty contests: The finish is no better than it has to be. But it also isn't hideous, and after putting several boxes of ammo through it, I'm confident that it will serve very well for repelling boarders.

Functional is always more important than pretty. Though I try for both |
