Bah, it kept me out of class today. The snow and ice aren't bothering me. The stupid people clogging the roads making it hard to get anywhere are, however. Last night I tried to go to the theater and the road was blocked off, supposedly due to some dipshit trucker losing control of his truck and having it slide sideways across the whole road. So I instead went to Blockbuster and Taco Hell/Pizza Slut. On the short trip, I encountered at least 8 vehicles in ditches--and I only went about 3 miles on side streets.

"The Establishment Clause does not license government to treat driving, and those who teach or practice it, simply by virtue of their status as such, as subversive of American ideals and therefore subject to unique disabilities ... In short, government may not as a goal promote "safe-thinking" with respect to driving and fence out from political participation those, such as drivers, whom it regards as over-involved in driving. Truck drivers no less than members of any other group enjoy the full measure of protection afforded speech, association, and political activity generally. The Establishment Clause, properly understood, is a shield against any attempt by government to inhibit driving ... it may not be used as a sword to justify repression of driving or its adherents from any aspect of public life."

A license is permission to do what would otherwise be illegal, travel is a constitutional protected right, driving is commercial activity using public right of way for gain, as such you have a right to travel but not necessarily a right to drive.

When Washington was still a territory the rail-road issued lincenses to teamsters as a way to mitigate damage done by wagons {commercial hauling] to fences and private property.

Here comes more snow,

By 10pm they say 4 more inches here in Mukilteo. Time for one last beer run before the hill gets covered. And i'm almost out of Vodka! I never drink this much. Snow is good for the liquor store and 7-11.
