It's sooooo cold my parakeets are using the "brrrrr" shiver in their chirping to get me to turn up the thermostat.

Ahhh...You've dealt with these creatures before! My least fave encounter with them entails the "I'll let you act as stupid as you want to, but I won't get on that finger so I'll have something to laugh at later." Rem has them working on the universal quantum space-time theory but they seem to be slacking off a bit. |
Oh, ok. You're one of those people. I should call and laugh at my buddy Ty, especially if I can catch him on the way home from work. |
25 here, was just out there in t-shirt, shorts and flip flops. The snow was above my ankles, guessing bout' six inches of snow and it is still coming down. So we are pretty much stuck now. The driveway is about 200', and all uphill on a decent enough grade to swamp the family truckster', so the four wheel drive conversations have commenced.

We are up on the hilltop in Tacoma. Every night at duskish we get a convergence of warm air from the hilltop that mixes with the cooler air of the Puyallup basin. It makes for extra gusty conditions. One evening I saw the clouds moving in 4 different directions. Tonight it surprised me with a complete 180*. First everything coming out of the SSW, then in less than 15 minutes- the wind and clouds blew in from the NNE. It's nice in the summer, all that cool air brimming out of the sound. It's Nov. for Pete's sake. I haven't even put the cover on the BBQ.

Well, I worked from 4-midnight as usual... shyte loads of snow fallin. The warmest I saw was 32. coldest was 13. And it stayed at 13 most the time. Glad we had no work today. Had a couple snowball fights... drank a few pots of coffee... I played DJ for the hangout... then we all went home. |
Ahhhh... And the medical waste keeps floating up on shore. BTW---My sister lives in Short Hills, NJ and she said there was a TON of garbage on the "Shore" as they call it back there when you go to the beach. South Current in the Atlantic? |
Medical waste wash ups is so 1980s... it's 2006 now |
Medical waste wash ups is so 1980s... it's 2006 now Ok...So its 2006 Medical Waste.
|
Medical waste washing up was a story in the 1980s, not in 2006. If people toss their trash into the ocean, and they do, some if it will end up on shore someplace, WA, NJ, NE, CA, OR, FL, SC, RI, NH, VA, etc.it happens to all of the coastal states, some of the trash will end up in a country other than the one it originated from. Trash from NY has been found on the shore in Mexico's Yucatan peninsula. ETA- back to the topic at had, it's a balmy 27°F in Seattle now. |

We just ran in to Pe Ell to get a pizza, (consider the irony here... there was a frozen snowballs chance in hell that the new pizza joint was open... but we just came home with a frozen pizza from the gas station), and it's phuckin 12 degrees outside! I've seen it before plenty, but I was usually out of state or on the dryside when it happened. It's pretty chili for west WA. |
|
The cold just means lots more hard work for me, but the snow could crush buildings, and this storm following the flooding is bound to put more pressure on the already failing Washington economy. |
You mean to tell me that you are not getting any of those Disaster Dollars that Queen Christine asked for after the floods?... |
