Got up really early this moring for the late season deer hunt. Every road that goes to my spot had trees across them Not just one, but 2 or 3. After an hour of futile detours, I gave up and decided to hunt on my buddy's 80 acres. Well, it was the only game in town and they were already a half-dozen cars parked at the gate. Guess I'm calling in sick on Saturday. I hope everybody else made it through the storm ok. |

Lost power about 15:30 yesterday, lit the candles, stoked the woodstove, turned on the radio, and sat by the window, watched it get dark. (I may also have sang along outloud to a few tunes, but I don't give out that sort of personal information) About 17:30 the wind started to howl, so I gave up and headed for town, figureing the power wouldn't be on overnight, and knowing how women need their hairdryers in the morning. Right when I got to town, I get a call that the Metropolis of Doty has power back, and the winds are gone. ![]() So we caught a meal, and drove home. Riveting story, eh?. |
Hmm, so let me see if I've got this right -- little bit of rain. little bit of wind. Power goes out so you bug out? |
Such excitement, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.. ![]() |
I expected a little elbowing for that Honestly, I was all nice and cozy. (I even took pics in anticipation of a 'how to weather a storm in style thread'...will post them when I get home) But then I got the call. The call that asked about showers without water, getting ready for work without power, laundry, phone charging, etc..... I caved. |
