Glad I read your post before I duped one.  My thoughts are the same here as to what are we going to see banned?  AWB?, All Class 3 ie, silencers and AOW's gone? 50 caliber?, Magazines? A limit on stored ammo?   What are the thoughts and predictions?

My prediction: Nothing is going to happen. The Dems will probably make a little noise about an AWB on the state level, but nothing with come of it. On the Fed level the Dems do not have anywhere near enough clout to force another AWB.

The House will be anti gun, the Senate will be very close and the President hopefully will still be on our side. If the Libs win the white house in November 2008, you can count on a Federal AWB in January 2009

I'd be more concerned about the state than the feds at this point. We may hold the Senate, and Pres. Bush probably won't sign any anti-gun bills.

In Washington we can expect our own 'evil rifle' ban, closing the 'gunshow loophole', .50 cal ban.

We didn't "GET IT ON" last time.

As long we are able to continue to drive our gas guzzling SUVs on oversized chrome ghetto rims and take our kids to Disneyland, no one is going to do anything about losing a few gun rights.

We'll just get used to FAB-10s and fixed magazines.

I feel a little activisim in my bones.  I wouldnt be suprised to see an "engineered" or over exagerated AW crime soon just to get it on peoples mind and on to the house floor.  Either way it goes, I will not give up my guns.  period.

Well last time I was 16 so it didnt even matter to me, and the ban really didnt do anything exept get a bay lug ground off , or require you to have a non collapsable stock.

This time will be different.  They know how they "fucked up" and wont make the same mistake twice.  If youre gonna take it up the ass fine but not me.

I'm more worried about the recession the Democrats will force us to spiral into very soon. House sales are already slowing. A recession will bring it to a halt. Increased taxes will kick off the recession.

It won't take clout for the Democrats, headed by Pelosi, to get the ball rolling. It will just take one incident to center on and inflate as much as possible - to get gun control issues on the table.

A short term recession could be good for 08.

I can see nothing good happening in '08. If our selection is between Hitlery and McRino we have no selection.

Schumer, Pelosi, etc.? Guarantee they will make some noise. Getting back that great AWB is already being mentioned by the media:

McCain gains political capital in elections

...

Still, Democrats' wins in the House, giving them control for the first time since 1995, will alter the agenda on several thorny issues, including key gun legislation such as the assault weapons ban, which lapsed under Republican control but could come back under Democratic control.

They still don't have enough control to force an AWB through and I think a lot of moderate Dems would be reluctant to support the issue. Maybe if they gain full control in '08, but we're safe on the Fed level for at least 2 years. The state level I'm not so sure about, but we'll see...

Taking it up the ass=complying with confiscation laws.  BTW there are ways to fight wars with out guns.

I don't see confiscation anywhere on the horizon. Maybe just registration under NFA regs or something.

Ask Randy Weaver how that turned out.

If the libs win?

Who has the GOP named as their front runner for President in 2008?
We don't even have a clear choice who is in running for President.
The GOP waited WAY to long to get their act together for the midterm elections, and as far as I am concerned they have waited too long to get GOP Presidential choices out.

Im not trying to start a fight with you personally.  As far as randy weaver goes, his Family were victims in the overall struggle.

This isnt meant to sound pompous, but if a shooting war DID start it wouldnt be my first rodeo.  I have already volunteered for one war....

In the end I can see where you are coming from, and for the most part I believe very little to nothing will happen 2A wise.  But If it did, I'd stand up.  That's the way I am.

Different world then 1994, I don't think there will be any ban on weapons.  To many people know it did not work.  With 9/11 and Katrina looting, we have enough images to defend ourselves in the press.

The way I see it..The Dems are gonna have to stay moderate...they know if they push their liberlism to damned hard..they blow their chances for the White House in '08.

The libtards got just enough rope to hang themselves with.
