Ok.  Because I value the opinion of people I know I'm asking this here.

Would this be better than the standard trigger assembly in an AK?

I'm looking to make it more bump friendly.

TIA.

Patent No. US 6,772,548 B1

The ONLY 100% milled AK trigger group made in the USA. Made the right way, from solid steel bar stock. Before, the American shooter had to settle for cast or MIM'd copies of the original parts, not anymore! RSA offers the first fully adjustable Kalashnikov fire control system.

Will fit most milled and stamped 7.62, 5.45, and 5.56 AK variants. Select from our standard version for 7.62, 5.45, and most 5.56 guns, or from our new SAR-3 version.

This trigger group is adjustable for Pretravel, Overtravel, Disconnector Engagement, and Trigger Pull. Depending on your preference and application, it can be adjusted for Single Stage or Two Stage pull.

Package includes heat treated blued hammer, trigger, and disconnector, along with a US made Wolff disconnector spring, and a cheater pin which holds the trigger and disconnector together while installing the parts in your rifle. Allen wrench is included for adjustment, along with detailed instructions for installing and adjusting your trigger group.

All parts are CNC machined from solid steel barstock, and the three piece group will qualify as 3 US parts per US Law.

Lifetime warranty against defects or failures

Ok.

Do the Tapco's make a better trigger assembly than they original assembly that came in your rifle?

I just bought the G2 plan to get it installed this weekend and go out Sunday. Will let you know. It was a bit more expensive but the AK forum said it was well worth the extra money.

It depends on the FCG you've got installed. Some of the Century and even original FCGs are decent. A lot of them that I've played with (I'd say 50%+/- ish) of the rifles I've fired have some nasty trigger slap with the original FCG. Dropping in a G2 is a cheap fix, the Red Star is a much better quality piece. I've got G2s in my 2 converted Maadis. I can't justify an $80 FCG in an AK, so the $35ish G2 gets my vote.

I've used the G2's in two build....single and double hook...the double hook has a slightly better pull in my opinion.

both work well enough and bump pretty good too.
can't go wrong with only 35 bucks.

The G2 system's engagement surfaces can be polished up to give a very nice pull. But if y'all want BUMP, the Red Star setup is the way to go. It costs almost three times as much, but it's fully adjustable.

I've used both the RSA and the TAPCO G2s. I continue to use the G2s, because they are nice triggers. I've had to polish one to make it function as it should.

A sixpack of beer, a latte, a dremmel tool and a couple hours at DaBunnys house was a lot cheaper than either one and it took out 90% of the slap on my MAADI.
