I am pleased to report that the Elma pit is still in great shape.  Went there this morning with 6 folks from work.  There was one guy finishing up sighting in a 7mm when we got there. He had measured the pit at 150yds from the far back corner to the backstop.  Invited him to stick around and shoot with us.  He had to leave after a few 45 mags on steel plate, but as he was leaving, I believe I saw him drooling when he saw a Mini-14 in action.

Maybe 2 other cars came by while we were there.  Heard some gunfire nearby at one point ---I guess there is another pit close by.

Beautiful day, but got dumped on for last 5 minutes of cleaning up.  No flat tires!!!

Well if he was drooling over a Mini-14, then I don't even want to think about what he would do for an AR-15!

Chromed, folding stock.  Fires a thousand rounds a minute, with a 10,000 round CLIP, but doesn't hit within 10 meters of the target?

I would take an SKS over a Mini-14.

If there is a decent pit in Elma, why don't ever have any shoots there?  It's still a ways for most of us but a lot closer than the LCR pit.

We do, you just never show up. Haven't had one in awhile though. Elma shoots= Capitol Forest shoots. Not really that much closer than LCR....maybe half an hour closer for you northern boys

The pit is about 15 or 20 minutes south of Elma.

More like 10 min, 15 if you count the time spent on the dirt roads.

My little group wasn't ready to shoot with the varsity....yet.

We have had 3 shoots there in the last year that were coordinated in this forum.
