Just wanted to Rant. I have a client that owes me $8000.00 He is pissy at me for wanting it all, before I will give him his van back. He just called me up and yelled at me because I faxed him a copy of the mechanics lean that all my clients sign when they drop off their vehicles. Time to get the lawyer involved.

The more money they have the bigger the deadbeat, especially lawyers . Used to do a lot of work for homeowners in the blue ridge area, they would take month long vacations in Europe and then refuse to pay on the contract they signed even though they were happy with the work done. |
thanks for remminding me that it is my monday and I have to be at work in a couple of hours. I need to come up with some good internet scam,make a boatload of cash and move to some cabin on a hillside in the middle of nowhere...

I told him this morning that $8000.00 clears the bill and releases his van. On Monday It is $8000.00 + $150.00 a day in storage retro to the 15th of March when we finished the van. After 30 days of unpaid storage I am calling a tow yard to tow it out and auction it. He is pissed, but I think he might be more willing to pay now that I have told him to pay up or he loses the Van. |

Hell yes. Late fees on top of compounded interest, and compounded interest on the late fees.  (and if you don't already know, take notes of all dates, times, and who said what to whom. paperwork decides the victor in these wars)

Notes and recordings. When you talk to him, in person or on the phone (if both of you are in WA), turn on the recorder, and just say "I'm recording this conversation". You don't need permission, but if you notify him you are recording, it makes it look good for you if you have to use it. There is nothign like playing back someone's own words if they try to say they didn't say this or that. "Oh yeah, I got this recording right here, and..." |
