I just aquired a few of the brownells 30 round magazines. The are very nice and seem to be very high quality. I was just curiouls though, are most brand new magazine a bit on the tight side until they are inserted and removed a few times? Only one of them drops free without a bit of help from my hand. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Eric |

I'm not sure what magazines Brownell's sells but I don't think it's 'normal' for magazines to start off tight fitting. There have been some lowers that have been accused of having tight fitting mag wells. Early Olympic Arms have that reputation. For future reference the most widely advised magazines to use are USGI... LaBelle, Parsons, Center Industries, etc. ETA: Are they plastic, steel or aluminum magazines? If steel or aluminum you might wish to try sticking them in a vise and giving them a gentle squeeze to help them drop free from your lower. If plastic, a little light sanding/filing might help. |
+1, Bushmasters are also notorious for having tight magwells. IIRC, Brownell's struck out and are manufacturing thier own now, or at least putting their label on someone else's. They should be grey Teflon coated Alum mags with green followers. |

The ones I have received have Brownells marked on them. |
You beat your Mega lower with a rubber mallot?!
