I just aquired a few of the brownells 30 round magazines. The are very nice and seem to be very high quality. I was just curiouls though, are most brand new magazine a bit on the tight side until they are inserted and removed a few times? Only one of them drops free without a bit of help from my hand. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Eric

I'm not sure what magazines Brownell's sells but I don't think it's 'normal' for magazines to start off tight fitting. There have been some lowers that have been accused of having tight fitting mag wells. Early Olympic Arms have that reputation.

For future reference the most widely advised magazines to use are USGI...   LaBelle, Parsons, Center Industries, etc.

ETA: Are they plastic, steel or aluminum magazines? If steel or aluminum you might wish to try sticking them in a vise and giving them a gentle squeeze to help them drop free from your lower. If plastic, a little light sanding/filing might help.

+1, Bushmasters are also notorious for having tight magwells.
IIRC, Brownell's struck out and are manufacturing thier own now, or at least putting their label on someone else's. They should be grey Teflon coated Alum mags with green followers.

Didn't Brownell's win a contract to supply M16 magazines to the military?  I thought I had heard or read that somewhere....

Yes, Brownells received a huge US mil order, so they are now USGI spec mags.  Mine work great.

After LEO left some mags over I noticed that they were very tight in the Mega lower but fell right out of the Colt and the Bushies.  A couple hits with a rubber mallot and they were just fine in the Mega as well.

Do you happen to know if these are the "nekkid" floorplate ones? No manufactuer marks anywhere visible......
