The Gun Zone has a couple posts with pictures of hand shots. I knew about ecgRN from the CETME Rifles forums. He posted the link to the ND from Rich Timm at TGZ. I've been involved with ADs in the past, no injuries thankfully. Near one in Saudi during ODS in our make shift arms room in a MilVan. Helping unit armorer (who was a an 91C = LPN) work on a .45 with feed problems, he was hand cycling rounds to check the feed ramp fix. Next thing there is a loud POP and three of us all going WTF at the same time. The bullet missed the third guy’s head by inches. Ricocheted off the top of an arms rack and bounced around inside the container. Yes they sometimes gave us medical pukes real bullets. hat’s“I'm the only one in this room professional enough that I know of, to carry a Glock 40.” have |
Great thread. The pics tell the story that is for sure. I carry a HK compact in .45 and was at the range running through some ammo; I had just cleared the clip and slammed another home (HARD) which caused the slide to release and the weapon discharged with no trigger pull. Scared the hell out of me but fortunately I was in a position that the weapon was pointed slightly toward the ground and down range. I have tried to do it several times and have only gotten it to do it one other time since then. I knew that the slide would release with a hard push of the clip into the well and purposely used this tactic when going through drills. Needless to say I don't do it anymore. |
