I have been working on the 30 carbine stuff, trying to get everything together to make some ammo that will run my M1 Carbine. Compound problem is I havent reloaded shit in a few years. Of all the things to forget, how to do a lot of the small stuff reloading was one I kinda wanted to remember. I have struggled through the day trying to go step by step slowly, and am down to the good part. Done depriming, cleaning, sizing, repriming, now its time to powder and seat. Got the powder all dialed in, double checks throw weights, so far so good. When I place the bullet on the brass, it drops down inside the casing. I take a few cases (6 random), and try various bullets I have on hand (4), and they are all doing the same exact thing. ![]() Time to turn to the Crown Royal answer man, Im done reloading for today. |
Reran a few through, I just cant get these damn RCBS dies dialed in. Im doen for the day, powder all put back in the jug, drinks are flowing. Well, on the first one anyways. I realy didnt feel too good today, but I kinda wanted to get it done. It will have to wait until after vacation. |

Slower powders should give you the power to run the gas system and they also have the benefit of using so much case capacity that a double charge is near impossible. An example for the M1 carbine is Win 231 powder, you can just dip the case in the powder and fill it to the rim, scrape it level and compress it with the bullet |
I will run you out a few of those and hold your beer while you show me. I have heard that from a few people, I tend to stick real close to my reloading manual. The only powder I have here that ius listed for the M1 carbine is WIN 296, at 15gr max. And yes thats damn near a full case. |
