I'll need a headcount of all kids that will be attending the next LCR Shoot, ages 16 and under. There will be door prizes for them just for showing up, since I couldn't come up with a reasonable way to have a competition for them, that was fair for any & all skill/age levels. (If your kids are over 16, they should have already filed a few of their own income tax returns by now, and they can buy themselves their own damned prize, just like the rest of us do. As far as an activity for them only goes, I'd still like to do something cool. (which could also provide a noisebreak for 1GR) Kooter & I are both involved in some rimfire sports, so maybe we should be looking at it from that direction....? Or maybe just some orange sporting clays laying about, with a rimfire and age restriction on the line for a period of time, one or both days.... dunno, still very open to suggestions. Parents; It will be assumed that at least one parent/guardian will accompany each child to the line to supervise, if you feel your child needs it. If you would prefer not to but still feel your child needs supervision, please just ask, and we'll make certain that your child is properly looked after. There are many skill levels present at LCR shoots, but finding someone to ensure your childs safety and possibly provide a chance to learn some skills, is not much of a stretch. And of course, participation is 100% voluntary for everyone at LCR. (Rumor has it that sitting around the campfire at LCRs is far more dangerous than the fireing line anyhow) I'll wait until a week or so before the shoot to pick up the prizes, but any advance notice is appreciated. Prizes will be very "right wing", so IM me if you prefer your child to recieve something otherwise.... |
Thanks Kooter. If you can figure out a fun deal for everyone, that'll be perfect. I was planning to bring a few extra 22s and some extra ammo for those who may not have the gear needed to participate. |
Well.. everything? I pretty much get the gist that we all get together and have a good time.. Maybe it comes down to: How/When/What/Where/Why? ![]() If'n it's a weekend, can count my father and I to be there |
How? However we see fit. It's a collective effort, and everyone can participate at any level they want to. Your voice is as equal as anyones. When? Shoots are organized right here. Keep an eye out for details as they get closer. What? A group that originates here, who desire to go shooting and camping together just for the fun of it. Where? See answer for "When?" Why? Why not? I won't know until closer to that weekend if my two will be in tow or not. I'm still trying to find a sitter (I'm using the whole "it's our anniversary weekend bit" but I don't think it's working) If I cannot find a sitter me and the kids will be down on Sat. if I do find a sitter I will be down by myself. If the kids DO come Morgan will probably be the only one to shoot. I think Cody is still a bit to young (he doesn't listen well)

Two toeheads in tow? |
Crap, we'll have to stay up north this time as I double booked. The wife just isn't seeing the boy and I taking off to go shooting on our anniversary as a good thing. My argument as to how having time away from our jibbering nonsense is indeed a fine substitute for any shiny, mined gift purchased from some snooty psuedo-man at the mall is not going over well . |
It's our anniversary too! What a

Hasn't it only been 5 years?

I see cold, lonely nights in the dog house in your future. |
Depends which one of us is right. We've been together 8 years. Were together 3 years before we got married......So that makes 5 years we've been married. My daughter was 1 year old when we got married, and she turns 6 at the end of the month. I think MrK messed up

Well you know dear, I can only be perfect 99.99% of the time. Besides, if our wedding had been memorable, so would the anniversary date, but as luck would have it, IF I remember correctly we had lost a dare to get married and it was a rushed next day thing. Maybe next year we can renew our vows and I will remember from then on out |
All right then. You guys got a good thing going there. My wife isn't into shooting, when I got her a .357 she went out once, got familiar with it and said good enough. Luckily she tolerates my hobbies

Funny thing is after 8 years of being together it really has felt like a life time! ![]() |
