I know many of you guys have bought stuff from craigslist, but have any of you sold anything on there? Any problems?

Once upon a time I tried to sell one of our cars on Craigslist, three different times before I gave up with that place. Assclown central in regards to auto sales.

YMMV

I tried selling a car on there.  I did get over 100 responses within 24 hours.

It was in Bellingham (and said so in the listing), and 99% of the responses were from the Seattle area.

100% of the Seattle responses that said they would come take a look flaked out.  Like 70 people specified a time and no-showed within the 10 days after it was listed.

I finally sold it to someone responding to an ad in the local free paper, the day it was published.

Probably depends on what you're selling, but since it's Seattle-centric, that area would probably work out better.

And anything even related to guns/hunting/paintball/knives gets delisted almost instantly, due to their California oriented policies and our local liberals browsing the listings.

I did successfully buy a Bushmaster ar15 that was only listed for 8 minutes before getting tagged as prohibited.

I have never sold anything on CraigsList .... but I purchased an HK94-A3 in 99% ( came with all factory accessories ) condition for $2K off of CraigsList. Its full of anti-gunners and they flag / remove firearms postings rather quickly. But I usually establish contact w/ the seller prior to one of the assclowns flagging the post.

If you place a for sale ad be prepared for a ton of low ball offers as well as 9 out of 10 people probably wasting your time and never showing up.

I sold a pool table on Craig's list within 20 minutes of posting it. No problems

It's pretty good for advertising real estate also.  I've had more responses from craigslist than I get from an ad in the Sunday News Tribune.
