This doe was lurking at the Pe Ell Sportsmans Club last fall while I was there for some blasting. I watched her in between shots, for about an hour, before I realized that it might make a pretty good picture.

For those of you who don't hunt, this is what a blacktail deer looks like at approx. 450 meters, (490 yards), through a 10X scope. For those of you who have never seen a deer, thats her, about half way in to the brush, on the right hand side of the trail. (I should have taken the picture sooner)

It's extremely common to see one or more deer at this range/club, even with some pretty heavy blasting going on.

I swear it ran right out in front of my target. Not wanting to waste it, I took it home with me.

I swear Judge whoever, thats exactly what happened.

I think he's gonna stay strict on this one bigscrun.

Right on vader, but the ones in my yard are a much shorter pack. Tough to beat 'dead doe' sammiches!

The last trip into the LCR shoot, could have had two on the way in and one on the way out.

If it had been season and if I'd had a tag of course.

Fresh venison anyone?
