No I am not joking. I want to go hunt the BF (AKA Big Foot).
I am not a total believer in BF but why not try "No BS" approach and try to "Shoot first take pictures later"?

Back in 96-99 I used to camp and hike in the area which is famost for numerous BF sightings. Back then I did not know that and when something was running around our camp at night I did not pay much attention and went to sleep soundly in my truck. I thought is may be just coyotes making noises. My buddy did say that he saw somebody checking our camp out and was seriously scared by what he saw but I ridiculed him and paid no attention.

Later I found several reports of BF encounters from that same area. One from exactly same spot where I used to camp! It made me think about going back there and try to shoot that illusive big monkey if it does exist.

If some well armed resident of Washington or neighbouring states want to come along I would love some company. I want to drive my F-350 with camper upthere, use it as a base with relative safety, put on recorded BF sounds and see if anybody shows up. If he does stuff him with enough lead to bring him down.

During the day walk around to look for anything unusual.

Needless to say I expect countless replies ridiculing my idea and countless offers of tin foil hats. Thanks ahead of time. If anybody is seriously interested let me know.

I do need NV scope though. Anybody wants to sell me cheap used Gen II rifle scope by any chance?

It is a crime in Skamania County to injure or kill one IIRC.

Capture it.  I'm sure BF would be worth much more alive than full of lead.

get some of those game motion activated cameras and set them up on your perimiter.

You don't want to shoot it. Illegal, protected species (how they do that with an unknown species) in Washington state, Idaho and the surrounding states. I wish you luck in obtainning evidence to prove BF is real. Good Luck!

Skamania county is the only place in US, maybe world where it is illegal to shoot BF and why would I go to Skamania of all places?
It is not protected, it "does not exist".

I do not exactly own oil company to organize expedition to capture King Kong. On the budget full of lead will do.

Scruns taller than I am.

However I'm pretty sure that we saw bigfoot in the bar at banana-rama-ding-dong or whatever the name of that place was that we were last night.

Yeah that was definitely a bigfoot.

I'm sure glad that she wasn't coming right at me.

BTW- the cowgirls were from Enumclaw.

You're kidding, right? A camper as security against BF?

You might want to research your quarry a bit before you take out after it.

Firstly, BF is not a solitary animal. You shoot one, you will incur the wrath of the others. It's been done.

Secondly, BF is stronger than 5 striped assed apes and your camper will offer no security if you wound/piss one off.

I think the only thing people hunting BF have to worry about are other people hunting BF.

There were many cases of people in small cabins hiding from BF on the outside. I have yet to see one where he  broke in.
Second I will not be in camper but on top of it. 9' off the ground gives some safety, better than nothing and I do not have funds to build fortress in the woods. 9' of the ground with 360 degrees view is perfect firing position.
BF does affraid of guns. He knows what they do. Many reports describe BF running away as fast as he can at first shot fired. I do not rely on camper for security but on couple hi-cap 308/30-06 and other firearms.

BF is solitary animal. at the most, maybe one out of 100 reports is about more than one BF at the time. Most likely he he like a bear. Roaming alone most of the year meeting for mating for few days.

Gorillas are about 5-7 times stronger than man. Thousands of them are poached with AKs for
meat.

Actually, I did see wild hogs north of Montesano. Did not get a shot at them. Suckers are gone wild fast and are no easy game.
It is a fact that domestic pigs can become fully wild and self sufficient within three weeks from escape/release.

From what I heard some 5 thousands of pigs escaped in stampede of sort from large pig farm in Montesano area few eyars ago. Most of them got shot shorty after but those that survived got smart and are very hard to kill.

OK, back to BF. Other than ridiculing anybody has balls to go after big monkey?

There were many cases of people in small cabins hiding from BF on the outside. I have yet to see one where he  broke in.  You must not have watched mysterious encounters last night.  There is a documented sighting in southern Oregon that a BF entered a cabin at a youth camp in the mid 90's and shoved a bunk bed

Where did you find informatin on BF being solitary?  I have read many accounts of encounters with more then one animal.  You might also consult some native americans and ask them about Big Foot.  Most tribes will tell you about BF and why they will not kill one.  Most believe that if you do you will be killed by others or its kind.  Some tribes even believe that BF can shape shift or even mysteriously travel between time.

Don't get me wrong I have seen stuff in the forest that makes me think WTF was that.  I think that whatever it is if there is anything out there should be left alone.  If one is found the humans would exploit it as they have everything else.  But on the other hand when I am damn drunk, we talk about going out hunting for it.  But it nevers goes much past the talking stage.

How about this.......Come on up the the LCR shoot next weekend.  There will be sufficient firearms there so you have nothing to worry about.  You go out into the forest and look for BF and when find him you start screaming.  Once we get this signal from you we will all stop our game of Hold'em and come and help you out.
