A buddy of mine ordered a die for the phantom flashsupressor to thread my barrel from Brownells and its since been about a month.........I guess there was a rush.

How is he going to reduce the barrel diameter first?

Nice work......he talked about using a laith NSOS and taking the barrel down to just about wher the threads need to be.  I hope to god....(and believe)...he knows what he's doing.  He does inhome machine work and it always seems to come out right.  This would be a 16 in.  heavy barrel expensive scew up.

I'd think if he has a lathe to turn the barrel down he could just cut the threads on the lathe.

Maybe he's not confident in his ability to cut threads on the lathe though.  If that's the case than I say bravo to him for knowing his limits and not overstepping them.

BTW that's gruesome work, and it was just a simple muzzlebrake removal.  I just used that photo to illustrate the need for the turned down area.

I talked to him about using the lathe to cut the threads and he grimmaced......stated he did'nt want to take the chance......Im pretty amped about having it done though.......not just because its cool..also because I can and they said no......its not the gun that makes the criminal..doesnt it seem pretty simple?
