Looking for an apartment in the area and don't find much listed online.

Good luck. From what I understand, most rentals ANYWHERE up in that area are taken by gas workers.
You might have better luck looking closer to Forest City, Honesdale, or Hancock NY for a apt. Might also try to take a couple hours to drive around looking for signs. I know it might be hard to believe, but a lot of folks up in that neck of the woods don't use the internet.
