I noticed there are a lot of new people to the AR-15 platform, myself included, so I thought I would throw up the PA Game Commission link for those looking for Public Shooting Ranges in PA. The following link brings up a county/region list as well as range distances for pistol/rifle. There's a $30 annual fee and you have to submit an application. It's a small fee for those who cannot commit to a club.

You can use the range with a current general hunting or furtaker license/ Only $20.70 for a current general hunting I am not sure about the furtaker license cost.

Just remember, the 5-round limit applies on Game Commission ranges just like when you're out hunting.  At some ranges they hang out just to nail guys who go out on the range with mags over 5 rounds.  The range out by Honesdale has neighbors who call in when people are firing strings over 5 rounds.

When it was Free I'd take a bunch of magazine and fill them up.  Shoot and count.  Get to 4 or 5 and stop, replace magazine and continue to shoot.  I have so many magazine (almost 20) that it it's almost impossible to know which magazine I took and which is empty.

Did the very same thing with my rifle: Load the Limit, but reload One Round after each shot.  You can get a 20 round string with the rifle very easy.

also keep in mind, if the range is a rifle range only the 3 round limit applies to the handguns as well. I've seen people cited by the PAGC for shooting their revolvers at a range without a designated pistol range.

The WCO's that stop at the range I use say different. I have been there when they advised shooters that they can load 6 rounds in a handgun but only 3 in a rifle. This is a designated "rifle" range, but people will come and shoot handguns at the 50 yard target.

The range outside Hawley gets visited alot by the game nazis and I've seen them ticket a few people.  Just make sure you have your permit/hunting license and read the signage.
