| i have a concealed permit for pa but live in jersey, i was told you can open carry in pa. does this only apply to state residents? i would imagine if you live in jersey you cant open carry in pa |

How did you get a PA license to carry firearms?? Being a resident of NJ, you must first obtain one from your home state before PA will issue you a non-resident LTCF.
If you have permit, etc from some other state that has reciprocty with PA, then that is a different story. Open carry in PA requires no license/permit, etc unless you are in Philly. But the non-permit is only if you are walking on foot. If you get into a vehicle, then you must have a license/permit. |

Quoted:
you could open carry in pa but the question is to you want to be harassed by officers who are ignorant of the law? This is pretty much it. I have open carried before, and never been harrased in my small town, but I would think that once you get out into the cities, you are going to attract much unwanted attention. |

Can a city ordinance take precedence over state law? I think there was a similar issue in Ohio where state law said it was perfectly legal to carry in parks and a couple cities tried to pass ordinances that said it was illegal in their city. I don't think they held up. |
