Dear Pennsylvanians

My friend in Chad's Ford (almost to Wilmington DE) wants to buy a rifle from me but his local FFL (the one he always deals with) wants to charge him $50 for a transfer.

Admittedly I'm spoiled as my local FFL used to charge me $15 and now charges me nothing, but we've been unable to find a cheaper transfer fee using the usual methods (gunbroker, etc.)

Is this the norm in PA? Makes a beat-up old rifle almost too much trouble.

My local is $20 but not near you.  It does seem that transfer prices around here though are in that range at many places.

Get him to check with Ken Crane , he does used weapon transfers pretty reasonably . He or you can look over the FFL list to see if someone is closer .  The list is located in "Important Threads "

Thanks.  I will.  PA geography is a mystery to me as a Tarheel (except for a town just east of Chambersburg...), so even though I looked over the list in a split screen with a PA map, it remained a mystery.
