| Hey guys what the hell is going on with the Steelers? They are cutting everyone. I can't believe they let Hines go. |
|
its called not being able to pay players as starters when their on field performace does not match, farrior and ward are slow, smith and hampton are injury prone, hell even troy has lost a step and he is in his prime, for the first time in his carreer his style of play lost us more games than it won.
i think the current cuts are good moves, i would love to see us move mike wallace(quites late in the season) rashard mendanhal. i really like redmon, and brown is a better all around receiver. sure up the line, get some secondary support and play steeler football. |

Quoted: Business, is business. I didn't like the fact they let Hines go, but they couldn't afford to keep him under the current salary cap. Personally, I think Hines should retire. I thought that Hines did retire? I thought I saw something about him getting a job with NFL Network. |

Anyone think they might pick some of these guys up as free agents once they get under the salry cap? BTW, what is going on with Wallace? I am just glad Bruce Arians is gone. He was an el crappo offensive coordinator. I could sit there and watch a game and call out the plays before they happened. If I could do that, I am sure other teams could do that. Hines had to go...can't pay starter money to a non starter. He is HOF for sure. |

All of these cuts are being made in order to retain Wallace, that is what is going on with Wallace. Since he is a restricted free agent, they will get the opportunity to match the inevitable good offer he is going to get from somewhere else. IMO, the cuts are good to keep someone like Wallace that is going to give this team years of great service. |
| I read that they will offer Wallace a 1 year $2.7 million deal with the Steelers being able to match another teams offer. Also if he does sign elsewhere, they would get a first round draft pick. The article said that they will not franchise him as it would cost about $9 million per year and they just do not have cap room for that. I hate to say that 2.7 sounds low for ANYONE, but it does to me. Guess we will see how it works out. |
