| who will be the first in PA to apologize and call for the end of JOE PA and his evil minions??? |

Give me a break.
I just got done reading the several espn stories and this piece of trash:http://espn.go.com/espn/commentary/story/_/id/7202768/if-allegations-true-did-penn-state-coach-joe-paterno-know-when I really do not get why Paterno is or should be involved. One of his assistants came to him with a report about something he'd seen in the locker room involving a person who was in no way responsible to or under the supervision of Paterno. JoePa then proceeded to report the accusation on to PSU administrators, as he should have as a non-witness and getting a story second hand, the PA AG said as much. |

who will be the first in PA to apologize and call for the end of JOE PA and his evil minions??? Read between the lines.....JoePA canned his ass before this incident happened. Call it an early retirement if you wish but he was sacked. Now there will be more on this as the rest of the story develops but the fact is that everyone is looking at just one of the instances right now. But sadly, these kinds of things are never isolated acts and I fear there will be more that will come to light. These poor kids! Back on focus... Keep in mind that these instances took place on a college campus and the reporting must follow very direct pathways. JoePA made the proper notification to his direct supervisor and as clearly stated, he LEGAL responsibility ended there. He has cooperated with the investigation, testified before the Grand Jury and continues to answer any questions from the prosecutor's office. That was reported over and over again during the press conference. Anyone can say "Oh I would have done....(this or that)..." but in reality, unless you have ever tried to report an incident on a college campus, IT AIN'T LIKE TV! This is not the end of the story and Penn State will have to answer for the failure to follow through according the Cleary Act and to the Dept of Education but like it or not, JoePa is a coach in an athletic program......and iconic coach but at the end of the day, a coach. His duty was to report the information that was presented to him and he did so to the person in his direct chain of command as the Cleary Act directs. Any employee involved with supervision of others on a college campus gets session after session on the responsibilities that Cleary requires. But with any reporting, there is a chain of command. You can't just decide on your own to pick up a phone and call whoever you think needs called...that is unless you like being unemployed and possibly named in a civil suit. There was obvious failures in this case and from there it gets ugly. Those involved in making mistakes or actively trying to shield the school or others from wrong doing are now being held accountable as well. It is an ugly situation that is not going to get better any time soon....in fact, I am waiting for more shoes to drop. I am in no way condoning what Penn State or this piece of crap dirt bag has done but to point the finger at JoePa is misdirecting the blame from where it belongs. |

As for Sandusky, i will not even begin to get into what needs to be done to that scumbag.
As for everyone and anyone else who knew or was told what was going on, in my opinion they all need to be help accountable. They all had a moral as well as legal obligation to report any and all info regarding Sandusky and his possible actions, If this was addressed at the onset and 1 child was spared with having to be abused by Sandusky that would have been better then what was allowed to go on.I am not trying to start a pissing match as to J.P getting charged with anything or asked to step down, what i hope everyone sees here is that fact that this scumbag was allowed to do the things he did to those kids and nobody did a fucking thing to stop him. We all have to make decisions in our lives and sometimes we make the wrong ones and we have to answer for that. This is a truly ugly situation and no matter who gets charged or is forced to step down it will never changed that fact of what Sandusky did to those kids. In my opinion there will be no winners in this regardless of how it all plays out. |

Outrageous.
The minions defending him are of the same brainwashed-fan-mindset that continue to rationalize support for Michael Vick after what he did. What is it with football that a complete absence of ethics and morality is so generally acceptable? If Adolf Hitler were alive, and could throw the ball better than Michael Vick, there would be fans willing to justify him playing, and he would be on the field with a multi-million dollar contract by Sunday afternoon. Is football really that important that torturing dogs to death, and permitting the continuing serial rape of ten year old boys are actions some will circle wagons around our "gridiron heroes" for? Paterno did only the barest minimum required of him legally. This is true, and will probably prevent him from being prosecuted for what he allowed to happen. But when we're talking about ten year olds being raped on your watch, the bare legal minimum is just not good enough. In fact it's disgraceful. Would he have acted differently if Sandusky had HIS grandson in there? He should be fired, and it appears that this is going to happen. They should raze the stadium to the ground and disband the program. It is disgraced beyond repair. Let all the other college football coaches watch the stadium crumble to the ground too, and know that the same thing is coming to their life's work if they dare do less than everything in their power to seek out and eliminate conduct like this. Absolutely outrageous. ––Fargo007 |

| Is anyone else bothered by the fact that the media keeps showing all the people that are supporting Joe P. I feel that his failure to do anything to stop that P.O.S from doing what he did far outweighs the fact that he was a great football coach. Like i said in my earlier post. I feel that Joe P as well as anyone and everyone who knew what was going on need be charged, i am sick and fucking tired of always hearing the same thing,," i didnt want to get involved, i told my boss,,etc,,,etc,," Enough of the bullshit already. You knew a violent crime had been committed against a child,, and you did nothing,, are you kidding me. |

Amen. And now this grotesque little football troll will go into the history books with the full disgrace he has heaped upon himself, and the institution he was a part of. ––Fargo007 Your posts are dead on. I love college sports but never is a sport more important than morals, etchics and being a decent human being. He may have reported it to his superior but what about the law? If was so great he could of made this right along time ago. His firing was right! |
