Update:
Greetings fellow Zombie Hunters! Just an update from those of us at Contagion 2011! This years event will be held on Saturday, September 10th at the New Holland Rifle and Pistol Club in Gap PA. One of the many comments we received regarding last year's shoot was that those who had supported our event over the past years should be rewarded for their loyalty. We couldn't agree more. For without you, this event would not happen. So moving forward, we will be holding a special registration open only to those who have shot with us before. As many of you know, our Contagion shoot sells out in minutes and last year we did have to turn away quite a few folks. It is our plan to limit the registration to 150 shooters this year. That is a significant reduction from last year. We will contact you by email with the details. Look for that email in a couple of months. We realize that this policy will make it more difficult for first timers to join our shoot. We sympathize, but feel strongly that those who supported us in the early years have earned the right of first refusal at a spot in our shoot. Another neat change this year is that we will be scoring the evolutions and you will be able to compete for prizes at certain of the shooting stages. Our evolution designers have been hard at work planning fun and inventive stages for you to enjoy. I have reviewed some of their submissions and I think you are going to be pleased. Once again, we are committed to treating Contagion as a shoot and not a full blown match. As such, you will be under no obligation to complete every evolution. You will be able to shoot evolutions multiple times (time permitting) and there will be no overall score kept. Just the winning score/time of certain shooting evolutions. We will be instituting some changes to make sure those who have not shot an evolution are given preferential treatment in the queue to those who are repeat shooters. More on that later. We will be once again running a fund raising event with the proceeds going to the Wounded Warrior Project. Thanks to you last year we were able to donate over $200.00 to help those who were injured in service to our Country. We will be making changes to our gear storage area to better insure that your belongings are kept safe and dry if need be. We recognized that our existing tent was inadequate and have addressed this situation. We also will be making arrangements for some type of lavatory to available at the parking lot. We recognize that many of you drive a considerable distance to get to us and nature does call at the end of a long journey. So there you have it folks. Please look for periodic updates to this thread as I can share more information with you. Stay Safe, Gary |
