..... I need to get my damned hair cut!
anyone got a barber shop that isn't going to be 80 bucks each time I go (like the place the woman wants to bring me to) and does a decent job at military haircuts in the Drexel Hill area? Man it's wierd moving to a new place and not knowing anything in the area thanks in advance guys |
| It's not Drexel Hill but it's not far ... I go to Joseph Anthony's, at 38th and Walnut. They charge $20 for a haircut but they do a good job. To give you an example, I have a college classmate who drives all the way there from Malvern to get his hair cut ... and we have been out of college for almost fifteen years! For him it's worth the drive. |

Joseph Anthony's is a nice place (though I prefer the one in Concordville) but you don't need to go that far or spend that much money to get a clipper cut.
I'd suggest Twanger's Best Little Hair House 711 Macdade Blvd Folsom, PA. It's been a while since I was there, but there were always some working class hotties who got you in and out (of the chair) pretty quickly and do a nice job. A high & tight clipper cut was something like $10.00, probably a little more now. There are a bunch of barber shops in that area of Macdade Blvd and on Chester Pike so you can't go too wrong. I'm sure you can find something closer to you in Drexel Hill or Havertown though... just stay out of Upper Darby and never, ever order Chinese food in Upper Darby. |

Okay, I'll bite –– why no Chinese food in Upper Darby? It isn't like you shouldn't order Korean there –– some great places to go. Back when hair was an issue for me I used to go to a guy in downtown Wayne: http://www.yelp.com/biz/pats-barber-shop-wayne |

Lancaster Avenue in Wayne that I went to a few times. The guy was a former boxer and did a good job, but it was appointment only... can't remember the name... It'd be right across the street from the K-Mart and ACME. I would stay away from the Korean food in Upper Darby too. I used to *cough* know a few Prendie girls and some of them worked as the interpreter (the person who takes the phone order) at some Chinese joints in UD and they'd talk about the mystery meats and how unkept the places were. I'm not talking about one or two places, I'm maybe saying 5-6. Let's just say that I wouldn't keep your dog on too long of a leash in that town. Prendie... ahhhh... those were the days... My favorite pick up line, "Oh, you went to Prendie? What are you doing later?!" |
