| Does Pa. have the Castle Doctrine? Guy at work thinks we do, I say no. |
|
The question interested me , so after a short search I came up with this . Seems that Pa has No Castle Doctrine , I think we need to change this ASAP. Here's a list of which states have it or something close to it . en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castle_Doctrine |
| Had another thought also. PA constitution Artical 1 section 21 The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the state shall not be questioned. link. Its clear enough for me. |
I was also wondering about this bill. I thought it was dead in the water last time it was mentioned. Going to have to track this now. We really need the Castle Doctrine. Even if it is a justifiable shooting (god forbid) I still don't want to have to worry about the dirt bags family suing me into oblivion. |

We have, from what I've read, a fairly realistic self defense law but no protection from lawsuits and in public a duty to retreat. HB641 has been withering on the vine for some time. The last time it saw any action was in 2006 or early 2007. It just won't move. I don't even know if fast Eddie will sign it if it does come across his desk. |
