The question interested me , so after a short search I came up with this . Seems that Pa has No Castle Doctrine , I think we need to change this ASAP.

Here's a list of which states have it or something close to it .

In PA we need to get the following house bill 641 passed to have a castle doctrine.HB 641 . I am having trouble finding out if it was passed.  It was suppossed to be heared on December 11 2007 but that is as much as I can find. link

Had another thought also. PA constitution Artical 1 section 21 The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the state shall not be questioned. link.  Its clear enough for me.

I was also wondering about this bill. I thought it was dead in the water last time it was mentioned. Going to have to track this now. We really need the Castle Doctrine. Even if it is a justifiable shooting (god forbid) I still don't want to have to worry about the dirt bags family suing me into oblivion.

ok, here's a link to an earlier discussion we had concerning this issue. It branched off into the idea of having insurance to help defray any costs concerning abusive lawsuits after the fact.

We have, from what I've read, a fairly realistic self defense law but no protection from lawsuits and in public a duty to retreat.

HB641 has been withering on the vine for some time.  The last time it saw any action was in 2006 or early 2007.  It just won't move.  I don't even know if fast Eddie will sign it if it does come across his desk.

Certainly not if he's got a shot at being Osama's running mate!
